Ein fiktives Unternehmen befindet sich mitten in der Umwandlung zu einem datenzentrischen Unternehmen. Was jedoch zunächst wie kleine Anlaufprobleme erscheint, sind tatsächlich frühe Anzeichen dafür, dass die Transformation kurz vor dem Scheitern steht. Dieser Artikel beleuchtet nicht nur die oft besprochenen Herausforderungen bei umfangreichen Veränderungen, sondern hebt auch die oft übersehenen Erfolgsfaktoren hervor. Insbesondere zeigt er, dass Führung, nicht nur Management, die entscheidende Komponente für den Erfolg darstellt. Abschließend folgt eine Liste wichtiger Best Practices, die trotz ihrer Bedeutung wenig Beachtung finden.

In Curriculum I (2004), the entire household of contemporary Swiss artist Isabelle Krieg is piled up to form a streambed: the water runs over her belongings and disappears in her bed. Likewise, Curriculum II (2008) consists of the artist’s studio equipment, with a stream running through it. Using the example of the intermedia-works Curriculum I and Curriculum II by Isabelle Krieg, this contribution aims to show how water as an art material can be linked to subject matter and interact with written and spoken/sung language to contribute to the art work’s meaning.

In 2002, the Swiss Design Awards were relaunched in a new format, in a bid to reinvigorate the competition and to adapt the promotion of design to the evolving needs of the profession. One of the key themes of the new format was the vision of the Swiss Federal Office of Culture that it could be a node in the network of Swiss design. After tracing the evolution of the Office’s approach to sponsorship in the years leading up to the relaunch, this article analyses the impact of the awards on the networks and on the practice of three winners of the 2002 edition.

Milk is known for its high nutrient content that helps to maintain important body functions. In this regard, bioactive peptides that are encrypted in milk proteins and get released during processing and/or digestion might play a role. These peptides are able to inhibit enzymes, influence cell growth, or target specific receptors. The peptide profile that arises after protein digestion in the jejunum before the absorption into the blood takes place includes these bioactive peptides. The composition of the peptide profile is influenced strongly via processing and a modification in processing might target specific functionalities. Thermal, chemical, biochemical, and physical treatments affect protein digestion mainly by changing the protein structure for example via denaturation or protease actions. Parameters influencing this are external ones, like the matrix of the product, and internal ones, like specific enzyme deficiencies. However, considering all the important aspects that are involved, there might be the possibility in the future to adjust a bioactive function via processing.

Adopting a child from India in Switzerland "For us, it was clear that we would go and get Suhana ourselves. It was important for me in any case, and for my husband too. She was from the Mother Teresa home. For my husband, it was an absolute shock. […] I already knew the home. It had become more familiar for me. It's just very impressive, a home full of children. All of them would like to have parents, really. A challenging situation, I think. They introduced us to Suhana, and she was curious but kept herself hidden. We spent four or five days playing with the children in the children's home, but she never joined in. She was always watching in the background. That also worried me a little. I kept wondering, 'Will she come with us or not?' Then came the day on which we were due to leave. We had to go from Calcutta to Delhi to get the visa. And then we were able to take the bus from the Mother Teresa home to the airport, and Suhana screamed and cried. The flight was two hours late and she just sobbed for two hours. We were really thinking, 'Shall we take her back, or shall we just take her with us now, what shall we do?' She knew who we were. We had made her a photo album and she was well prepared. She knew she was getting on the plane and flying away with us, but at the airport she just screamed and screamed. Then we got on the plane and it was ok." 1 Mrs Amsler's description of her first encounters with three-year-old Suhana, who was to become her adoptive daughter, is illustrative of the intense emotions, challenges, uncertainties, doubts and overwhelming situations faced by the adoptive parents interviewed in this contribution. Dieser Beitrag befasst sich damit, wie sich die gesellschaftliche Tabuisierung von race in der Schweiz in den Erzählungen von weissen Adoptiveltern indischer Kinder of color ausdrückt. Das Ziel ist es, Erkenntnisse darüber zu gewinnen, wie die gesellschaftliche Tabuisierung von race auf weisse Adoptiveltern von Kindern of color einwirkt und inwiefern sie dieses Sprechverbot übernehmen oder damit brechen. Dazu wurden 13 Interviews mit Adoptiveltern analysiert. Die Ergebnisse verdeutlichen das Spannungsfeld, das die Tabuisierung von race für die Adoptiveltern erzeugen kann. Im Bemühen, ihren Adoptivkindern Normalität und Zugehörigkeit zu vermitteln, blenden sie die Hautfarbe ihrer Adoptivkinder und deren Bedeutung weitgehend aus. Auf der anderen Seite beschreiben sie miterlebte rassistische Erfahrungen gegen ihre Adoptivkinder, benennen diese aber kaum als solche, und stellen sie als Ausnahme dar. Gleichzeitig intervenieren sie bei rassistischen Vorfällen und ermutigen ihre Kinder in unterschiedlichem Mass, sich zu wehren. Keine der befragten Adoptiveltern glaubt, dass Rassismus ein Thema ist, das ihre Adoptivkinder nachhaltig beschäftigt. Schliesslich muss betont werden, dass es anhand der Interviews keine Hinweise darauf gibt, dass Implikationen von race und Rassismus seitens der Vermittlungsstellen adressiert worden wäre. Obwohl die Adoptiveltern sich als anti-rassistisch positionieren und verschiedentlich danach handeln, tragen sie unbeabsichtigt auch zur Aufrechterhaltung der Tabuisierung von Rassismus bei. Die Resultate zeigen insgesamt, dass die weissen Adoptiveltern höchstens über fragmentiertes Wissen zu Implikationen von race und Rassismus verfügen und keine (bedeutungsvolle) institutionelle Unterstützung und Aufklärung erhielten. Vor dem Hintergrund der anhaltenden Praxis von internationalen Adoptionen und der gleichzeitigen Bagatellisierung von Rassismus in der Schweiz stellen sich Fragen, inwiefern weisse Schweizer Adoptiveltern, die gegenwärtig Kinder of color adoptieren, besser unterstützt und aufgeklärt werden.
