Algorithms are embedded in our everyday lives. Yet few humans are familiar with algorithms in practical terms – in other words, few are able to write and read them. The author offers a historical review of them, focusing mainly on the concept of the algorithmic revolution and algorithmic law as ’dark constitutions’ or normative black boxes.
