Introduction This anthology on the skin-covered bowed string instruments of the rabab family contains research results from a Swiss National Science Foundation research project conducted at the Bern Academy of the Arts between 2019 and 2023 alongside contributions on related topics. In the introduction, the structure of this anthology is explained in relation to the broad spectrum of scientific disciplines involved in a multi-perspective approach.
