DLG's performance tests demonstrate again the outstanding efficiency of tractor CVT's. New approaches (study phase) are addressing continuously working 4WD control systems. For the first time, the Emission Regulation EU Stage V includes all performance classes of internal combustion engines. Due to the now limited number of particles in the power range between 19 and 560 kW, a general use of diesel particulate filters is expected. Technologies of tractor Diesel engines are more and more identical with those of large truck engines, also regarding mean effective pressures. ZF has introduced a new stepped transmission with 6 power shifted speeds (transmission map), also improved its CVT portfolio. The CVT of ARGO (design base VDS) is ready for series production (transmission map). John Deere presented a battery driven 140 kW tractor as a study.
