Establishing and maintaining composer archives in Africa confronts one with numerous problems often not encountered in Europe, from issues of safekeeping to issues of accessibility. This paper looks at the problems and possible solutions, focusing on the possibilities of storing archives in the cloud, simultaneously in Africa and outside the continent.
