Using the example of Herrnhut coloured papers (paste papers), this article presents the ‘Digitale Kunstpforte’ (‘Digital Art Gate’), a database of handicraft techniques. Historical backgrounds are discussed as well as concrete techniques and instructions for making one’s own experiments.
