Norient exhibition - the Network for Local and Global Sounds and Media Culture. Musicians from around the globe make themselves heard thanks to YouTube, SoundCloud, Facebook and Twitter to create visions of a new world - the digitization amplifies their sound, creating new artistic forms and formats. The exhibition «Seismographic Sounds» introduces controversial music videos, songs and Soundart from more than 50 countries. «Seismographic Sounds» looks behind the scenes of music production. Between video clips, sound and video installations, podcasts, remixes and virtual debates, visitors dive into the musical diversity of the 21st century. The exhibition offers a multitude of perspectives and backgrounds: the contents are derived from 250 musicians, authors, journalists and photographers from Jakarta to La Paz, from Cape Town to Helsinki. «Seismographic Sounds» stands for the variety of sounds, for the relativization of Western domination; confirming how digital globalization does not necessarily lead to cultural uniformity. This then raises the question: is music a seismograph of the times?
