Abstract
The use of artificial intelligence (AI) harbors opportunities and risks that need to be managed. Artificial intelligence is a generic term and comprises several technologies. AI means the attempt to program a computer in such a way that it can process problems relatively independently. Based on the interviews with companies, three AI approaches were worked on as part of the case study. Natural Language Processing deals with the interaction between computers and humans using natural language. Machine learning is an application that enables systems to automatically learn from experience and improve without being explicitly programmed to do so. Cobotics deals with the intelligent control of collaborative robots or cobots. A cobot - short for collaborative robot - is a robot that works with people and is not separated from them by protective devices. In the case study, the students will work on these AI approaches using concrete examples in three companies. This practical approach makes this extremely broad topic tangible for them. Based on this case study, the students will get to know the opportunities and risks of the productive use of AI in companies. In the first part of the case study, the students define the term 'artificial intelligence' based on literature and together with the lecturers. In the second part of the case study, the students determine possible application areas of artificial intelligence for three business processes together with the opportunities and risks involved.
