David Zimmer describes the stereotypes and negative generalizations related to the image of Slovakia in the eyes of Swiss readers. The author analyzed the articles that were published between 1993-2001 in the Swiss right-wing daily Neue Zürcher Zeitung published since 1780 in German. As the author concludes, although the political situation in Slovakia has changed dramatically since the parliamentary elections of 1998, the image of the country abroad changes very slowly and the stereotypes still prevail.
