Einleitung

Der vorliegende Sammelband zu den fellbespannten Streichinstrumenten der Rabab-Familie enthält sowohl Forschungsergebnisse eines zwischen 2019 und 2023 vom Schweizerischen Nationalfonds finanzierten Forschungsprojekts an der Hochschule der Künste Bern als auch weitere Beiträge zu verwandten Themen. In der Einleitung wird der Aufbau des Sammelbandes in Bezug auf das breite Spektrum der involvierten wissenschaftlichen Disziplinen vorgestellt. Zudem wird die innerhalb des Forschungsprojekts verwendete Terminologie erläutert.

Introduction
This anthology on the skin-covered bowed string instruments of the rabab family contains research results from a Swiss National Science Foundation research project conducted at the Bern Academy of the Arts between 2019 and 2023 alongside contributions on related topics. In the introduction, the structure of this anthology is explained in relation to the broad spectrum of scientific disciplines involved in a multi-perspective approach. In addition, we elucidate the terminology used in the research project.
