Abstract
Removal of Ballpoint Pen Ink
This article presents the results of restoration work at the Museum of Modem Art in Vienna, which was part of a seminar report at the Meisterschule für Restaurierung, Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. lt concems the removal of ballpoint pen ink from the painting "La Regina del Regno dei Fiori canta Nicola, Nicola, Nicola aaa" by the Italian artist Nicola de Maria. The white acrylic-bound surface of the painting had been scribbled on while the picture was on exhibition. The ballpoint pen paste could be removed with morpholine and hydrogen peroxide without leaving any traces.
