Abstract
Every three years, the Conference of the International Council of Museums - Committee for Conservation (ICOM-CC) brings together conservation professionals from all over the world. This year, the event took place between September 18th and 22nd in Valencia, Spain under the title Working Towards a Sustainable Past. Capitalizing on this exceptional occasion, the research project team Activating Fluxus organized an off-program meeting, led by Aga Wielocha, titled Activation in/as Conservation Practice. The purpose of this meeting was to initiate a dialogue surrounding the concept of activation and to explore its interpretations and uses within the field of conservation practice. The invitation to this discussion was extended to conservators from diverse specializations and varying 'cultures of conservation.’
