Digitale Daseinsvorsorge, kollaborative Innovation und Public Value. Agents und Stewards als Organisationsfiguren kommunaler Eigenbetriebe

This article uses a conceptual approach to evaluate the relationships between collaborative innovation, the structure of municipal enterprises, and their provision of public services or creation of public value in the digital age. The analysis suggests that a preferred application of the stewardship approach in the organization of municipal enterprises has positive effects on collaborative innovation processes and on the generation of public value. The characteristics of stewardship theory therefore appear to be conducive to the goal of maximizing public value.
