Abstract
This study aimed to improve bio-based poly-lactic acid (PLA) polymer's properties using polycarbonate (PC). Cloisite 20A nanoclay and Joncryl chain extender were used to improve the miscibility of this blend. The results revealed that the PLA-PC blend without compatibilizers showed poor mechanical and thermal properties. But using nanoclay and chain extender significantly improved poly(lactic acid)/polycarbonate blend's properties which were due to the enhanced compatibility between the PLA with PC.
