Etnografía ecoestética: Bienales en la escena argentina del arte contemporáneo

The Medifé Biennial Arte y Medioambiente, together with the exhibition Pensamiento Salvaje—organized within the framework of Bienal Sur—constituted two curatorial programs that introduced into the Argentine art scene a renewed debate on the ethical and political dimensions underlying certain contemporary discursive and artistic practices. By reactivating the art–ecology discussion, which had been partially absent from the local context in recent decades, these platforms extended beyond the exhibition space to promote exchanges between communities and diverse forms of knowledge in relation to current aesthetic and artistic dynamics. This article examines the questions raised by these curatorial initiatives, analyzes selected works presented in the exhibitions, and reflects on the conceptual frameworks that these works brought into tension.
