Vorläufig aufgenommene Kinder erhalten in der Schweiz deutlich tiefere Sozialhilfeleistungen als andere Kinder. Diese Kürzungen können ihre Entwicklung und gesellschaftliche Teilhabe gefährden. Dies zeigen Interviews mit Fachpersonen, die im Rahmen einer Masterthesis durchgeführt wurden. Eine Angleichung an die Regelsozialhilfe und eine Harmonisierung der kantonalen Ansätze wäre wünschenswert.

Nur zu gerne vertraut man auf den dokumentarischen Charakter der (historischen) Fotografie. Fotografien auf ihren exotistischen Gehalt zu untersuchen heisst jedoch nicht, die Glaubwürcligkeit eines Fotos in Frage zu stellen oder es als Fälschung zu enttarnen. Vielmehr soll dieses Medium auf die Subiektivität der Fotografierenden hin untersucht werden, ebenso wie auf jene Bilder, die sich der Betrachter vom Inhalt dieser Fotografien macht. Es treten eine Reihe von Phänomenen auf, die weniger über das dargestellte Sujet als über die Urheber uncl die Rezipienten Aufschluss geben hönnen. Da es keine Systernatik gibt, anhand derer man die Fotografie auf ihren exotistischen Gehalt hin überprüfen hönnte, wurden die ausgewählten Abbildungen in folgende Kategorien unterteilt: Exotische Kostümierung, Reisefotografie, Erotik, Völkerschauen und Weltausstellungen, Anthropologie und Ethnographie, Bildjournalismus

Removal of Ballpoint Pen Ink This article presents the results of restoration work at the Museum of Modem Art in Vienna, which was part of a seminar report at the Meisterschule für Restaurierung, Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. lt concems the removal of ballpoint pen ink from the painting "La Regina del Regno dei Fiori canta Nicola, Nicola, Nicola aaa" by the Italian artist Nicola de Maria. The white acrylic-bound surface of the painting had been scribbled on while the picture was on exhibition. The ballpoint pen paste could be removed with morpholine and hydrogen peroxide without leaving any traces.

The purpose of this project was to find new methods to relax and flatten tracing paper supports for works of art. GORE-TEX barrier was used to achieve an even and gentle relaxation without any risk for water sensitive colours. Flattening was carried out on the suction table. This procedure allows severe undulations from tracing papers to be removed with minimal stress. Even highly water-sensitive colours are not endangered nor are the dimensions of the tracing papers enlarged.

The conservation of painted photographs has to consider those factors relating to the photographic properties of the image as well as those conditions that can be dealt with by conventional fine art conservation techniques. The restoration of three painted photographs from the collection of the Höhere Graphische Bundeslehr-und Versuchsanstalt in Vienna, dating from 1854 to 1900, is described. The treatments include inpainting, surface cleaning, consolidation treatments, and matting. In addition to the conservation treatments, an accelerated aging test is described, which was conducted in order to find suitable retouching media for silver-containing photographic images on paper. The results of this investigation were used in the above-mentioned restoration treatments.

Humidification is an essential part in the conservation of paper, parchment and photographic prints. Especially when dealing with water sensitive objects the application of moisture creates problems that are usually solved with expensive high-tech equipment like a humidification chamber. The use of moisture permeable materials for this purpose, which allow humidity to reach the object without wetting it, offers easy and inexpensive techniques for the humidification of water sensitive obje cts. These investigations into the use of moisture permeable materials for humidification led as well to the development of new techniques which allow the removal of residual adhesive, old linings and stains from water sensitive objects.

Zum Ablösen von Kaschierungen, Entfernen von Wasserrändern, Quellen von Klebstoffen usw. ist in der Graphikrestaurierung der Einsatz von Feuchtigkeit auch bei sehr wasserempfindlichen Objekten oft unumgänglich. GORE-TEX, eine Neuentwicklung der Textilindustrie, ist hervorragend geeignet, Feuchtigkeit an das Objekt heranzubringen, aber unerwünschte Nässe fernzuhalten.
