We measured the normal state Fermi surface of a Pb0.42Bi 1.73Srl .94Ca 1.3Cu 1.9208+x(001) single crystal using angle resolved photoemission. Our experimental approach allows us to see the full topology and symmetry of this essentially two-dimensional system. The geometrical structure is probed using x-ray photoelectron diffraction and transmission electron microscopy. Structural effects on Fermi surface features are discussed. Moreover, a series of energy distribution curves is measured for an azimuthal scan of emission angles and a quantitative analysis of the bands crossing the Fermi level is given.
