The paradigm change in the technology of recording and documentation systems is at the core of the “poésie physique” by Gil J Wolman (1929–1995). There was a shift from letter textualisation in his lettristic poems to the tape recordings of his Mégapneumie in the 1950s. Audioscoring investigates these systems and their influence on avant-garde vocal practices in a studio-like research laboratory, utilising the audiotaped pieces as acoustic scores (“audioscores”).
