In the present paper the moisture behaviour and the thermal conductivity of fiberboards and fibres from industrial production and laboratory samples were measured to improve the insulation properties. The bulk density and the thermal conductivity were found to be dependend on the pressure of the pre‐heating unit. With increasing pressure the bulk density and accordingly the thermal conductivity increased too. In addition the results showed that by varying the pressure the moisture content was influenced. With increasing pressure the moisture content decreased
