In Germany, almost exactly the same number of new tractors were registered in 2023 as in the previous year. Alternative drive concepts were again a much-discussed topic and various prototypes/studies were presented. Battery-electric tractors in the lower power range are gradually reaching series maturity. Currently, the "conversion design" with a central electric motor and classic transmission / rear axle unit is mainly used. Fendt presented the completely new 4-cylinder 600 Vario series and is pushing the 4-/6-cylinder transition further upwards. Other highlights included the heavy-duty tractors from Case IH and Claas (Quadtrac 715 and XERION 12 series respectively) and the new large tractors from Massey Ferguson and Valtra (9S and S series respectively).
